OUR TEAM

Electronics

We develop power electronics from 10kW to 500kW and embedded electronics according to the latest automotive standards, such as ASPICE 4.0. The focus is on inverter design and DC/DC converters. We consider functional safety requirements (usually ASIL-D) already in the concept phase, why we are able to implement them in a cost-optimized manner. Using power loss- and thermal simulations, we ensure that the key system requirements are met early on in the project. This minimizes the number of design loops from the initial concept to the start of series production. Worst-case circuit analyses of all relevant circuit components ensure the necessary stability reserves across series production and ageing effects. Our EMC expertise is not only incorporated into all developments right from the start, we also offer it as a separate service.

UNSER TEAM

Elektronik

OUR TEAM

Electromagnetics

We are specialized in developing and designing electrical machines in the drive train. Our expertise ranges from the initial rough dimensioning “from a blank sheet of paper” to the detailed optimization of fully developed designs.

We can help you to select the most suitable type of machine, whether a permanently excited synchronous or synchronous reluctance machine, asynchronous or separately excited synchronous machine. We consider all modern winding types, whether round wire or profiled wire, and work out the most appropriate selection of electromagnetically active materials.

With FEM-based solutions, we not only cover the optimal dimensioning of the magnetic design and the winding, but also the performance and efficiency calculation in the real driving cycle. Combined with thermal modeling, we can also realistically simulate the complex heating behavior of the machine from the continuous operating point to the dynamic load cycle. The consideration of the EM in fault cases, special operating states and behavior with real inverter operation is just as much a part of our know-how as the selection and dimensioning of the electrical insulation system of the EM.

In addition to the core area of the electrical drive train, we are happy to use our broad expertise for all types and areas of application of electrical machines and also solve unusual electromagnetic problems.

UNSER TEAM

Elektromagnetik

OUR TEAM

System & Safety

The system engineering team translates the diverse requirements of the stakeholders into requirements for the affected domains and respective abstraction levels. The toolchain used has no tool breaks and is standardized across all domains and over the entire development cycle. This ensures consistency at all times and makes it easier to map rapid iterations. Model-based system development uses the actual models, e.g. of the software, and combines them into a system simulation.
Our underlying safety culture is put into practice through the intensive and close collaboration between the functional safety team and all other domains. The certified toolchain in combination with the existing expertise enables the development of safety-relevant systems in accordance with the highest safety requirements. Our focus is on ISO 26262-compliant development and the implementation of safety concepts as well as the performance of all common qualitative and quantitative safety analyses.
For us, functional safety is an integral part of development in all areas of every project, right from the concept phase.

UNSER TEAM

Mechanik
